Antique Hand Painted Decorative Plate, Pink Roses, Bavaria Porcelain Cabinet Plate, Wall Decor, Elegant English Cottage, Old World Home Decor, Artist Signed, Traditional, Romantic, (Discontinued)
Made in: Austria / Bavaria
Antique: late 19th - early 20th century (estimated)
Details: An absolutely gorgeous decorative plate with hand painted roses in Pink, (some may say they're Peach) color roses. In the background are smaller yellow flowers and the unmistakable tiny blue Forget Me Nots. The plate is Austrian porcelain, however, we believe it was hand painted in the USA. In the late 19th to early 20th century, high society women had painting clubs and use "porcelain blanks" and hand paint cups, vases, plates, etc. Not all, but some of the women would sign their work, this one is signed, Renata, a very old fashioned name, and the very thick gold swirled border is indicative of an earlier decor style. Also, before the 19th century forget-me-nots gained popularity, especially during the Romantic era, and particularly in Germany. But this is all just speculation on our part, we hope you love the plate for its beauty and not for its age or pedigree it may, or may not have. There are two pre-drilled holes for hanging with wire, or use a plate holder for display. This would make a beautiful addition to a wall plate collection in a bedroom, dining room or even a powder room. We carry several other decorative plates, if you would like 3 or more Decorative Plates (mix and match from our entire Decorative Plates section), please Contact Us for 20% off, don't forget to let us know which 3 plates you would like.
